In the community

Evan Evans is at the heart of the community in Llandeilo. Whether it be local brewing apprenticeships or our renowned jazz festival, we like to give back where we can and share the good times with the people who make us who we are.

All that jazz

Evan Evans is proud to present the annual Jazz at Llandeilo festival. Founded by our own Simon Buckley, this celebration of traditional and contemporary jazz and blues is one of the fastest growing festivals in Wales. It’s a fun-filled family weekend featuring artists from the UK and overseas and up and coming local musicians – even Llandeilo’s school children get a chance to shine! And with the event based around the town’s pubs, there’s plenty of beer to enjoy.

Brewing opportunity

We have a proud tradition of supporting the local community. Whether it be sponsoring the local cricket club, Llandeilo Town Band, or supporting schools to buy musical instruments, we give back as much as possible. We also support apprenticeship schemes to develop the next generation of Welsh brewers and innkeepers. In 2013, we were the first company in the Welsh brewing industry to offer a ‘brewing apprentice’ role. We believe in giving talented local people the opportunity to join our award-winning team.

Charitable work

Ever since Evan Evans was established, the brewery has been associated with a number of charities, both locally and nationally. We have consistently champion the work of the armed forces and we are currently working with the Normandy Trust on an exciting project for release later this year. Most recently we launched a new lager as a thank you to the Heroes of NHS who have gone above and beyond during the Covid-19 pandemic; all profits from sales are being donated to NHS charities.

In December 2017, we sent beer out to the 1st Royal Welsh Battle Group on exercise in Estonia. For some of the soldiers it was their first Christmas away from their families. It was an honour to support and thank them and add a little taste of Wales to their festivities.
